Identity

About This Song:

"Identity" was first released on July 21st, 2017 as a single and was later released as track six on the "Breaking the World" album.

      Jered Threatin on "Identity":

"From a song-writing perspective I wanted to approach "Identity" differently. So, I wrote the drum beat first. Then, I arranged the other instruments and vocals around the drums patterns."

"With a title like "Identity" I felt like there would be an inherent expectation from the audience for me to describe myself or how I perceive my own Identity. Lyrically, I thought it would be more compelling to write about all the things I am not rather than expressing what I feel I am."

No One

Is Ever Much Like Me, You See and It Feels

So Good

To Know That Things Aren’t Always as They Seem, so…

Move On

The One Who Speaks His Mind is Ostracized for

So Long

Because Words with Two Meanings Have No Identity

Identity

Not Me

No One

Has Ever Understood a Thing and it Feels

So Good

To Know It Doesn’t Matter What You Think, so…

Move On

Because All Familiar Faces Change and Fade, so…

No One

Will Ever Drain Me of My True

Identity

Identity

Not Me

I’m Not the Same as All the Others

Not Me

Can’t Make Believe I Am Forever

Not Me

I Won’t Be Changed

By Your Complaints

I’d Rather Die Than Be Another

Not Me

Not Me

I’m Not the Same as All the Others

Not Me

Can’t Make Believe I Am Forever

Not Me

I Won’t Be Changed

By Your Complaints

I’d Rather Die Than Feed Another
